Privacy and access
Local-first by design
Your camera and your history stay on your computer. ScreenGuardian only uses the camera while it's open, processes everything on-device, never fights another app for it, and lets you know when something else starts using it.
Camera stays local
No camera images or video are saved or sent. Everything is read on your computer.
No face recognition: it can't identify you
ScreenGuardian reads posture landmarks (the positions of features like your eyes, nose, and shoulders) to estimate how you're sitting. It does not run facial recognition, build a faceprint or face template, or identify you. Those landmarks are numbers computed on your device.
No microphone access
ScreenGuardian uses visual posture and distance feedback only. It does not need microphone permission and does not listen to your room.
Tells you what has your camera, and never competes for it
When another app takes the camera (a call, a browser, a recorder), you are told which one. Nothing takes your camera quietly, and ScreenGuardian never fights another app for it.
